kill the drama.

so today i did laundry and read part of the 5th harry potter like the dork that i am. then i met up with aishaaaaa at AMC and saw napoleon dynamite for the 3rd time. the wedding scene was so funny. when we saw napoleon riding the stallion i almost fell over laughing. little do people know that hes hot in real life.

i just realized i never did a concert review for the phantom planet show on the 12th. so heres aishas. its better than any phanplan review i could ever do. they played for 2 1/2 hours which is AMAZING, and they took every song request. dude.
 
"jennie and me almost drowned (in the rain). i had tutor and we left late from the country, so we ended up leaving waterside at 7:45. the doors opened at 8. suprisingly when we got there at... 8:15? there was still alot of people waiting to get in and many more behind us. lol jennie brought an umbrella we shared. not well though. we were both tugging. and then when i saw a cab i ran away with the umbrella to hail it. lol it was funny.
 
when we got there we went and bought merch and then looked for a spot. (i'm acutally very proud of us because by the end i only had two people in front of me.) as soon as we got there i understood that there would be absolutely no moshing. the crowd had all the classic signs of first time concert goers (shoulder bags, layers, long earrings, mass amounts of makeup...)
 
the first band was good (the washington socail club) alot of people in the crowd didnt seem to like them but i was bopping along lol.

there was a female bassist. and we were like oh look it's me. that is all.
 
the second band (the ambulance) was actually pretty great. they reminded me alot of deathcab.. but.. catchier.. lol..
 
(jennie and me are good to go to concerts with. we talk alot while the bands are setting up so the time u have to wait flies by)
 
then was phanplan. i was so happy. ahh when long time fans finally get to see bands they like it's really really good stuff. i was singing along to every song for two and a half hours except one. for phantom planet fans... you know at the end of the big brat video? the pretty guitar part? that was the intro to the song they played. apparently someone requested it. i didnt see anyone singing along but i think i heard a couple people but im not sure. i guess they're the ones who requested it... it had never been recorded though and even alex was like 'we're playing this request.. i dont know how they know it though..' and ahh tima they pretty much covered all my faves on the guest and phanplan but did not stop there! that is right they covered the ones they didnt put on those albums that were on live at the troubador (does little dance) :D
 
their set lasted two and a half hours because they took every. single. request. you know how the headline band is only suppoesd to take 45min? yeah. two and a half hour set. that's right.
 
here are little things that made the night amazing--
alex: 'hey darren, you know any good ghost stories?'
darren mouths (what are you doing)
d: 'ghost stories?''
a: 'yeah, ghost stories.'
d: 'no i dont alex.'
a:'well here's a good one'
(darren and sam are laughing)
a: in a remote town in west virginia.. the wind is blowing.. alot of wind.. it whistles... oooh and there's also a tumbleweed that passes... and then this song begins to play... so now while we play picture that ghost story and a deserted police station.
 
-alex in the middle of a song: 'i promised myself i wouldn't do this. but VOTE KERRY. *mumble mumble* fucking... *mumble* *mumble*.
 
-they played the song 'the guest'.
 
-alex is a monkey like pete.
 
-these two guys behind jennie and me that started jumping and pushing the people i mentioned eariler. (the non concert goers).
 
'ooooh now were swaying! getting this party started!"
 
one of them hit their friend on the shoulder and was like 'mosh pit!'
 
and two of them started jumping up and down and pushing themselves against jen and me really hard during one of the songs and were like 'oooooh dry humping! having sex with clothes on!'
 
they started shouting during one of the break parts 'woooah shit are those guys brand new? *points to alex* hey is that snoop dogg?'and i turned around and gave one of them a weird look. and he turns to his friend and they were both looking at me and were like 'woah people are giving me death stares.' and i started laughing and they were smiling and he was like 'i know where i am i promise. i know that's not snoop dogg. i'm sorry.'
 
lol just in case anyone wants to know there were like 4 of them, but two were really loud, they were all quite cute except one was hot.
 
they were very funny. they made jen and me laugh hysterically.
 
- in the middle of the set alex goes: 'i know we all havent talked or anything. but i honestly beleive that you guys are the best people i've met in my entire life.'
 
- at the part before the chours for all over again (i think, cant rem..) alex did a kartwheel and ended up singing lying on the floor. then he got up and darren came over to him and whispered something and then alex got up and went to the mic and said, 'ok we're all going to stop playing. then i'm going to do something i've never done before. i'm going to try and sing without the mic and see if its loud enough.' so everyone was talking and was like 'we beleive in you!' and he was like 'i said be quiet.' and people werent being quiet. lol and then he was like 'i dont care. waste time. this is our show whatever.' it was funny lol. he sang and it lasted for like a second before everyone started singing along. it worked too.
 
-alex taking off his guitar and darren putting it on (so he had on two guitars) and then alex still proceeding to play the guitar. yes even though it was on darren. it was cool looking lol. (like slunt.. rem maria?)
 
-alex goes really close to sam and darren alot and sings in their face. it's really cute.-sam and darren do that together too.i should stop. but i really really love phantom planet. i dont say it enough. it was pretty incredible."
